Job Summary

At Prisma Health, we are seeking a highly skilled Polysomnographic Technician-Advanced to join our team in the Sleep Disorder Center. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing and scoring sleep study procedures, troubleshooting equipment, and communicating with supervisors and managers regarding patient and equipment issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and score sleep study procedures, including home sleep testing, in accordance with physician's orders, departmental policy, and Medical Director's guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment within the realm of knowledge.
  • Communicate frequently with supervisors and managers regarding patient, equipment, and other issues.
  • Obtain all required patient information and consent prior to performing sleep studies, and document patient education for home sleep studies.
  • Initiate, monitor, and perform quality sleep studies.
  • Adhere to department time and attendance standards and infection control practices.
  • Assist with employee education and orientation of new employees, and serve as a preceptor for students.
  • Score sleep studies in accordance with AASM Scoring Guidelines and meet average scoring volume requirements.
  • Meet Inter-scorer reliability goals established by the Medical Director.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree or 10 years of experience in sleep medicine and/or respiratory care.
  • Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in South Carolina and CRT-SDS or RRT-SDS credentialed by NBRC or RPSGT credentialed by BRPT.
  • Current membership with AARC or other job-related professional membership.
  • BLS certification.
