We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Utility Locator Trainee to join our team at Kanaan Communications, LLC. As a Utility Locator Trainee, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient completion of construction projects by locating underground utility lines.
Key Responsibilities- Learn and apply utility locating techniques, safety protocols, and equipment operation
- Develop an understanding of local utility infrastructure and regulations
- Partner with experienced locators to mark underground utility lines
- Operate utility locating equipment and document findings using digital mapping tools
- Perform work in all weather conditions and operate company vehicles safely
- Work overtime, travel, and perform on-call/afterhours responsibilities as needed
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have authorization to work in the United States
- Hold a High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
- Hold a valid State driver's license with an acceptable MVR record
- Routinely work alone in remote locations, operate vehicles, and perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying equipment
- Occasionally work in confined spaces and climb stairs
- Facility maintenance, technician, route driver, meter reading, landscaping, working outdoors, pest control, surveying, military, and construction laborer experience
