Position Overview:
As a member of the faculty, the primary responsibility is to deliver exceptional educational services. This role involves engaging with students, promoting an effective learning environment, exemplifying professionalism, and ultimately preparing students for successful careers in nursing. Collaboration with the Associate Director of Nursing, the Director of Nursing, and fellow faculty members is essential to ensure the consistent and high-quality delivery of courses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Full-Time Faculty are expected to become ATI Champions within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Develop comprehensive course plans and instructional materials.
  • Conduct lectures and facilitate laboratory and clinical experiences.
  • Oversee the maintenance of equipment and inventory supplies.
  • Ensure a conducive learning environment in the classroom.
  • Arrange for an approved substitute in the event of an absence.
  • Uphold institutional policies regarding attendance, dress code, and clinical practices.
  • Participate in orientation, graduation, and pinning ceremonies (mandatory for full-time faculty and optional for part-time).
  • Contribute to retention strategies and program enhancements.
  • Attend faculty and staff meetings (mandatory for full-time faculty and optional for part-time).
  • Engage in committee work and knowledge-sharing initiatives (mandatory for full-time faculty and optional for part-time).
  • Encourage student participation and engagement.
  • Guide and evaluate student progress in both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
  • Monitor student advancement and provide follow-up support as necessary.
  • Deliver weekly progress reports to the appropriate administrative personnel.
  • Maintain necessary licensures, certifications, and documentation for personnel records.
  • Complete a minimum of eight (8) hours of Continuing Education Units (CEUs) annually through professional development activities.
  • Encourage students to provide feedback through course evaluations and utilize this feedback to enhance course delivery.
  • Demonstrate regular and dependable attendance.
  • Participate in accreditation processes and compliance with standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Faculty members must possess the requisite degree for their discipline and have relevant experience and credentials as mandated by the Florida Board of Nursing (FBON), ACEN, ACCSC, and other regulatory bodies. It is essential that at least 50% of the faculty hold a master's or doctoral degree in Nursing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills along with analytical abilities.
  • Proficient teaching skills and effective management of clinical and skills lab activities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, etc.).
  • Ability to manage teams and projects effectively.
  • In-depth knowledge of course content.
  • Skilled in directing and assessing student learning and lab performance.
  • Prepared in Educational Theory and Techniques.
  • Commitment to maintaining high ethical standards.
Education and Experience:
  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in nursing (MSN or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
  • Required: Current, active, and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license.
  • Required: Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of relevant practical experience in the subject area(s) taught.
Workload Expectations:
  • Workload varies based on faculty classification.
  • Faculty are expected to start and finish on time for all assigned courses, clinicals, and lab sessions.
  • Prior approval from the ADON/DON is required for any overtime.
  • Teaching must occur in face-to-face settings with students in various areas as dictated by cohort needs, including:
  • Didactic/classroom instruction
  • Clinical/on-site or off-site patient care experiences
  • Lab/Simulation/Active Learning experiences
  • Full-Time Faculty are required to:
  • Teach a minimum of 30 hours per week.
  • Attend meetings.
  • Engage in accreditation activities.
  • Serve on committees.
  • Fulfill other assigned responsibilities.
Physical Requirements:
The role necessitates physical demands typical of a professional office and educational environment, including effective communication with colleagues, presenting to students, demonstrating procedures, and navigating between classrooms and offices. The ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally is required.
Work Environment:
