Role Summary:

Under the guidance of the Community Manager, the Resident Services Facilitator plays a crucial role in assisting community members in identifying their needs and accessing essential services. The primary objective is to foster successful living situations and empower residents to achieve and sustain independence and self-sufficiency. This role reports directly to the Community Manager and collaborates with the Resident Services Director.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement on-site programs and events tailored to the interests and needs of residents, including monthly social gatherings, weekly literacy sessions, and quarterly workshops focused on employment skills.
  • Connect residents with local public and private resources to provide necessary support, such as food assistance, childcare services, health insurance, and housing aid.
  • Encourage residents to organize community-building activities to address local issues, including crime and substance abuse.
  • Assist residents in formulating personalized short- and long-term objectives and guide them in taking actionable steps towards achieving these goals.
  • Coordinate volunteer efforts among community members.
  • Maintain and regularly update a comprehensive Community Resource Directory.
  • Prepare and submit timely reports as required by the Community Manager and Resident Services Director.
  • Ensure confidentiality regarding sensitive information related to families and children.
  • Keep organized records of activities and referrals for annual evaluations.
  • Commit to being on-site for 20 hours weekly, available between 9 AM and 8 PM.
  • Engage in local inter-agency meetings to gather information about available resources.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and internet navigation.
  • Possess the sensitivity and interpersonal skills necessary to work with individuals from diverse social, economic, and educational backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with community resources and the social services landscape.
  • Experience in organizing, executing, and managing multiple tasks under pressure.
  • Proficient in using computer databases and/or MS Word.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Ability to participate in or facilitate basic case management.
  • Work effectively with minimal supervision, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Must possess a valid government-issued ID or driver's license as required by management based on operational needs.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field.
  • Knowledge of community resources catering to all age groups (adults, seniors, youth).
  • Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include evenings and weekends.
  • Capable of operating a computer and other office equipment, including telephones, fax machines, and copiers.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a culturally diverse group of staff and clients.
  • Must be able to work at a computer for a minimum of 7 hours daily, either sitting or standing.
  • Ability to read printed materials and computer screens with or without assistive technology.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively via email, phone, or in person while maintaining a positive representation of the organization.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs unassisted.
