K2 Staffing, LLC is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of construction projects, ensuring timely completion, and maintaining high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate construction activities to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Develop and implement project schedules, including short-interval look-ahead schedules, to ensure effective project control.
- Oversee and maintain a safe working environment, adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations.
- Coordinate and manage the work of subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Verify that all work is installed in a workmanlike manner, meeting the required standards.
- Ensure all aspects of the project are compliant with contract terms, legal requirements, and industry standards.
- Administer client-specific programs, such as site rules and regulations, safety protocols, and security measures.
- Conduct and attend pre-construction, progress, and project meetings to ensure effective communication and project control.
- Manage self-performed activities to ensure work is performed within the established project budget.
- Manage changes in project scope to prevent avoidable rework and ensure the most recent documents are used at all times.
- Administer contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and other agreements to ensure scope, terms, and conditions are consistently met.
- Manage the punch list and project closeout process to ensure timely completion.
- Maintain daily paperwork, including timecards, field reports, schedule updates, and email correspondence.
- Provide timely and cordial interaction with supporting work groups, including clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Participate in marketing and obtaining projects to support business growth.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Previous experience handling tilt-up and ground-up commercial construction projects.
- Tenant Improvement (TI) experience is highly desirable.
- Experience in automobile dealership builds is a significant advantage.
- AS degree in Construction Management or similar, or a Journeyman status in a building trade from an accredited organization, and demonstrated experience of progressive responsibility supervising construction.
- Demonstrated understanding of construction means and methods associated with the renovation and construction of commercial and institutional buildings and site work related thereto.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, email, scheduling, Microsoft Office, and other software used in the construction industry.
- Current safety credentials, including OSHA 30, 1st Aid, and CPR.

- Construction Skills: Understands the sequencing of work and the strategy of creating effective project schedules, understands project control and change order management.
- Critical Thinking Skills: Excellent listening and communication skills, ability to identify and resolve complex problems, strong problem-solving skills that involve a bias to work within established systems and the agility to work outside of the system when necessary to get timely results.
- Action Oriented: Is goal-oriented and can react quickly to challenging circumstances to achieve the desired end results, is proactive, looks for problems that could impede progress and relentlessly takes responsibility for solving them, is committed to doing quality work the first time with little or no need for rework, works to meet or beat schedules and is driven to bring closure to avoid long punch lists.
- Leadership and Interpersonal Skills: Effective participation in a team environment, has the ability to lead effective field teams and to inspire others to their best, is aggressive, however, fair and reasonable in all business dealings involving clients, subcontractors, and co-workers, is an effective communicator, active listener, recognizes diverse perspectives and is capable of facilitating synergy and collaboration, has the ability to confront difficult situations and manages them to a successful conclusion, is organized and produces a paper trail that can be easily understood by a third party, and embraces life-long learning, strives to stay current with new industry trends and practices.
