Job Description

Overview


As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist III, you will play a critical role in performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using radioisotopes and radiation detection methods. This position requires minimal supervision and demands a high level of clinical competence in nuclear medicine technology and PET/CT.


Key Responsibilities
  • Execute clinical competence in nuclear medicine technology and PET/CT, preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals and adjunctive medications to perform patient imaging procedures. Process data and enhance digital images using advanced computer technology, providing images, data analysis, and patient information to physicians for diagnostic interpretation.
  • Apply knowledge of nuclear medicine and PET/CT principles and practices, including anatomy and physiology, radiation protection and physics, quality assurance, positioning, and patient care skills. Ensure safety and security in the storage and delivery of radiopharmaceuticals, adhering to Joint Commission, State, Federal, and departmental regulatory compliance standards.
  • Document accurate patient care activity in various electronic health records systems.
  • Ensure a safe and appropriate work environment, maintaining supplies and inventory in the area. Inform colleagues when supplies need to be ordered from outside vendors and document and report related equipment/environmental problems in accordance with policy.
  • Participate in departmental and organizational performance improvement initiatives, taking a leadership role in efforts to improve workflows, patient experience, and quality. Participate as a clinical competency evaluator for students and/or a preceptor for employee training and educational activities.

Qualifications
  • Graduation with a certificate or advanced degree in radiation therapy or nuclear medicine from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the US Department of Education (USDE) or Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
  • 3+ years of experience.
  • Approval letter from the State of MD Board to operate a CT/Nuclear Medicine Device for diagnostic CT exams.
  • Registered with American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT) (N) and/or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (CNMT).
  • Licensed Nuclear Medicine Technologist - State of MD.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.
