Job Overview:

As a key member of the Business Development Team at Praxair, you will be responsible for driving business growth and development activities across various industries. This role reports directly to the Director of Business Development and does not have direct reports.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Business Development: Engage with prospects, customers, and external companies to identify and develop new business opportunities. Develop and maintain relationships with key accounts and potential partners to drive revenue growth.
  • Project Management: Support and guide cross-functional teams during new technology commercialization projects. Act as the overall project lead, balancing the needs of various stakeholders, including customers, sales, and regional business development teams.
  • OEM Relationships: Establish and maintain relationships with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to explore lead-sharing opportunities. Identify companies with complementary offerings and develop strategies to leverage these partnerships.
  • Customer Relationships: Build and maintain relationships with multi-site companies at the national level. Develop contacts in operations, R&D, purchasing, and other relevant departments to pursue new business opportunities and support existing relationships.
  • Commercial Training and Materials: Own the development and maintenance of commercial training materials, tools, and resources for new technology equipment offerings. Create new materials, update existing ones, and organize them on the internal share-site.
  • Lead Generation: Develop and execute lead generation activities to provide pre-qualified leads to business development and sales teams. Focus on promoting new technologies and driving business growth.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, regional business development, and sales. Travel up to 40% to support business development activities.
Qualifications:
  • Education: 4-year Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Engineering or Sciences preferred)
  • Experience: 5-10 years of experience in sales, communications, or business development, or a combination of other experiences in B2B and/or technical industries
  • Customer Interaction: 3+ years of direct customer interaction experience
  • Industry Experience: Food industry experience preferred
  • Technical Skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
  • Personal Attributes: Relationship-building, self-motivation, action-oriented, well-spoken, personable, customer-focused, strong follow-through, strategic thinking, and analytical skills
