Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer

Vertex Aerospace LLC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in Indianapolis, IN. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the development and integration of advanced systems, including situational awareness displays, mission computers, avionics, sensors, mission equipment, and radar systems.



The ideal candidate will have experience with requirements development, hardware and software integration, and requirements verification. You will also have experience with development, integration, and test of complex systems onto air, sea, and/or ground platforms.



We are looking for a team player who can effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders. You will also have strong accountability and the ability to work autonomously to deliver high-quality work products on-schedule.



The Systems Engineer will work within a cross-functional Integrated Product Team (IPT), where effective communication and team building skills are critical to success.

Key Responsibilities:




  • Develop and integrate advanced systems, including situational awareness displays, mission computers, avionics, sensors, mission equipment, and radar systems.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop and integrate complex systems.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including requirements, design, and test plans.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies.


Requirements:




  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related STEM discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on advanced systems development and integration.
  • Experience with requirements development, hardware and software integration, and requirements verification.
  • Experience with development, integration, and test of complex systems onto air, sea, and/or ground platforms.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and deliver high-quality work products on-schedule.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance.


Desired Skills:




  • Knowledge and experience working with networks at the edge.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of Agile techniques (Scrum, Kanban, Scrumban, SAFe, etc.).
  • Experience with Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) like Yocto, Eclipse, and MS Visual Studio.
  • Experience managing suppliers and overseeing the development of subsystems and components.
  • Experience with ARM development.
  • Experience developing Hardware systems, including circuit board bring up and integration activities.
  • Current Active DoD Secret or higher Clearance.
