As a key member of our Merchandising team, you will be responsible for leading one of our most important categories, negotiating business terms, managing high-profile vendor relationships, and developing and executing business strategies to accelerate growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a high-performing category with full P&L ownership, establishing and maintaining strong external vendor relationships.
  • Develop and implement strategies to recruit new customers and develop existing customers through lifecycle management concepts.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize and maximize product performance, analyzing sales data, assortment gaps, and market trends to inform business decisions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, marketing, supply chain, pricing, and customer service to ensure holistic planning and execution.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of holistic business experience in ecommerce, merchandising, retail, FMCG, or similar organizations, with strong comprehensive business acumen.
  • Sales/Merchandising experience, with a proven track record of success in go-to-market strategies and execution.
  • Exceptional competencies in vendor management, sales, marketing, and general management, with the ability to lead, prioritize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, and strong knowledge of retail math.
  • Travel expectations: 15%.
Bonus
  • Business and leadership experience in market-leading organizations, both in bigger organizations and start-up businesses.
  • SQL & Tableau a plus.
Compensation & Benefits

Our salary range for a Senior Category Manager position is $129,500.00 - $207,000.00, with additional benefits including 401k, equity grant, and comprehensive insurance packages. We offer parental leave, family services benefits, backup dependent care, flexible spending accounts, telemedicine, pet adoption reimbursement, employee assistance program, and many discounts including 10% off pet insurance and 20% off at Chewy.com.

Non-exempt hourly team members accrue paid time off (PTO) while salaried-exempt team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Non-exempt hourly team members in Fulfillment Centers and Customer Service are also eligible for additional unplanned unpaid time off (UTO). Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
