Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, adhering to established job safety practices and company policies.
- Select and prioritize jobs from the daily work list, ensuring efficient use of machine capacity.
- Prepare machines for grinding operations, selecting the correct wheel and tooling, and ensuring proper setup.
- Utilize Bar Code Scan to clock in jobs and manage multiple jobs in Global Shop.
- Clean critical machine areas before setup and add necessary tooling for each job.
- Program machines according to specifications to ensure high-quality tools while optimizing efficiency.
- Inspect completed tools according to company work instructions and report non-conforming products as required.
- Perform general maintenance and assist with troubleshooting machines in the area.
- Follow standard procedures and work instructions, paying attention to handling sharp-edge cutting tools.
- Provide training and assistance to other employees on equipment operation and maintenance.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Ability to use and understand measuring and inspection equipment.
- Effective communication and job instruction skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Dedication to being at work and on time, with a strong team player attitude.
Working Conditions:
- Working with extremely sharp cutting tools.
- Exposure to noise, grinding oil/coolant, and moving mechanical parts.
- Long periods of standing and walking.
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 30 lbs.
- Frequent walking, reaching, handling, grasping, and turning.
- Occasional stooping, bending, or sitting.
- Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Pay Range:
$17 - $28 per hour
