Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee and mentor students during all classroom and laboratory sessions to ensure a safe and productive learning atmosphere.
  2. Keep students informed about course content, requirements, evaluation methods, and attendance policies.
  3. Ensure that each program/class encompasses essential curricular elements, maintains relevant content and teaching methodologies, and stays current with industry standards. Foster enthusiasm for the subjects taught.
  4. Assess student performance to gauge their progress toward achieving course objectives and competencies.

Teaching and Instruction:

  1. Develop, modify, and/or propose curriculum enhancements that align with course/program objectives and enhance student learning outcomes.
  2. Ensure that each program/class adheres to institutional standards, incorporates all necessary curricular components, employs effective teaching strategies, and reflects contemporary practices in the field.
  3. Plan each unit or lesson meticulously, addressing both content and instructional methods. Submit lesson plans to the appropriate administrative personnel and publish them in the course syllabus.
  4. Deliver instruction and maintain an effective learning environment, regardless of the teaching modality.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred (commitment to pursue a BSN within one year is expected).
  • Preferred: One year of experience as a registered nurse.
  • Required: A minimum of five years of experience in nursing, as a nurse educator, nurse practitioner, or in a related field.
  • Must hold a current, unrestricted Kansas RN license.
  • Responsible for obtaining yearly TB tests and other immunizations or physical exams as mandated by clinical sites, along with CPR certification prior to clinical assignments.
  • Preferred: Previous teaching or training experience in adult education, including pre-planning coursework.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and effectively with students and staff.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills, capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in using personal computers and various software applications commonly utilized in educational settings, with strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Comfortable with hybrid course delivery methods as required.

Compensation: $480+ per credit hour (based on education and teaching experience).

Schedule: Flexible hours including days, afternoons, and evenings, with potential weekend clinical assignments.
