Position Overview

Chamberlain University is seeking experienced Maternal-Child Nursing Faculty (part-time) to contribute to our educational mission.

Course Focus:
This course emphasizes a family-centered approach to maternal and newborn care, addressing health promotion and wellness. It encompasses the childbearing cycle, including normal experiences, high-risk factors, complications, and various women's health issues. Diverse populations and settings are incorporated into the experiential learning component of this course.

Key Responsibilities

As a clinical instructor, you will:
- Implement the university's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through effective clinical teaching and community service.
- Conduct teaching sessions onsite in collaboration with clinical partners.

Work Schedule:
- Typically involves 12-hour shifts (7 AM - 7 PM) for three to four consecutive days.

- Assume responsibility for all independent aspects of individual teaching assignments.
- Design clinical experiences and provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students as they deliver care to individuals or groups.
- Assess and document student performance based on established course objectives.
- Offer remediation support to students as necessary.
- Stay updated on agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations with assistance from agency personnel.
- Develop and assign written clinical tasks that align with students' knowledge, skills, and learning needs.
- Grade assignments, quizzes, tests, and other written work promptly.
- May deliver didactic course content under the supervision of the course coordinator.
- Keep the course coordinator informed of all student and agency-related issues.

Reporting Structure
- Reports to the dean or assistant dean, with direct oversight provided by a course coordinator.
