Job Summary

Citigroup Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Business Risk and Control Senior Officer to join our team. As a key member of our risk management function, you will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks that could impact our business operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Implement Risk Mitigation Strategies: Develop and implement effective risk mitigation strategies to address complex business issues and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Project Management: Manage projects across the remediation lifecycle, identifying and mitigating risks, and ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Risk Governance and Compliance: Collaborate with management to ensure effective governance and compliance with risk management policies and procedures.
  • Control Framework Implementation: Ensure the implementation of the control framework, including risk control policy, control standard, issue management policy, and control inventory.
  • Issue Identification and Resolution: Identify and resolve issues, partnering with control and process owners to recommend corrective actions and improvements.
  • Control Monitoring and Deficiency Handling: Monitor controls and handle deficiencies, escalating issues for resolution as needed.
  • Risk Management and Allocation: Assist management in allocating resources to identify, assess, and manage risk exposures across risk categories.
  • Operational and Compliance Risk Management: Take ownership of identifying, assessing, recording, and responding to operational and compliance risk events.
  • New Activity and Change Risk Assessment: Assess the risks associated with new activities and changes to the business, ensuring they are well understood and adequately controlled.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Provide subject matter expertise to ensure sufficient expertise exists to manage risks within the business.
  • Standards and Procedures Development: Assist management in developing and implementing standards and procedures that conform to enterprise requirements.
  • Business Acumen and Risk Assessment: Apply knowledge of the business, products, or services to identify and implement control points and processes throughout the business.
Qualifications
  • 10+ Years of Experience: Proven experience in risk management, with a strong understanding of risk mitigation strategies and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with 3rd Party Risk Models: Familiarity with 3rd party risk models and experience in implementing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex risk management concepts to stakeholders.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, Perl, Python, Matlab, R, Excel VBA, and database administration.
Education

Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred.
