Join Benchmark's Early Intervention Services as an Early Childhood Communication Specialist. Our mission encompasses all facets of care for young children, from managing regional initiatives to delivering direct services through various programs. Our Children's Services are dedicated to assisting infants and toddlers with disabilities or developmental delays in acquiring essential skills that typically emerge during the first three years of life, including physical, cognitive, social/emotional, and communication abilities.

As an Early Childhood Communication Specialist, your responsibilities will include conducting evaluations and assessments, participating in the development and implementation of Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSP), monitoring outcomes as part of a collaborative team, and providing early intervention support to families for the benefit of the child.

KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adhere to all Federal and State regulations, including those specified in the Connecticut Birth to Three Program Regulations.
  • Conduct evaluations and assessments.
  • Build rapport with children, families, and team members to foster a supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with families to develop joint plans and recommend strategies based on evidence-based practices and Natural Learning Environment Practices.
  • Implement IFSPs for enrolled families and suggest service frequency based on child development and family priorities.
  • Provide families with information, skills, and support to enhance their child's development.
  • Utilize coaching models and natural environment teaching methods.
  • Engage in Birth to Three sponsored training, meetings, and learning opportunities as appropriate.
  • Complete Birth to Three Service Coordinator Modules and serve as the Service Coordinator as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all standards to maintain the health and safety of staff and individuals served.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Speech Language Pathology (SLP) license in the state of CT.
  • Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology.
  • Valid Connecticut driver's license.
  • Ability to adapt to various learning styles to meet the needs of each child and their individualized treatment plan.
  • Minimum one year of experience working with children in early intervention.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Natural Learning Environment Practices.
