Job Summary

At Schill Grounds Management, we are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Generalist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day HR functions, supporting all areas of the HR department, and serving as an employee advocate, internal consultant, and business partner with management on human resources issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide HR expertise to employees and managers, responding to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Advise managers on performance management and employee relations issues, supporting the documentation of performance and assisting with terminations.
  • Assist with the acquisition process, conducting research, due diligence, closing, and integration activities.
  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate the H2B program and Permanent Residence Card processes, working closely with outside legal counsel to ensure timely and compliant completion of required process steps.
  • Comply with all legal and governmental requirements, including OSHA, EEO, ADA, FMLA, and Worker's Compensation, advising employees and managers on laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Manage Human Resources systems to ensure data integrity, provide management with proper reporting to support business objectives and strategic initiatives, and policy development.
  • Provide excellent customer service to candidates, employees, and managers, advising on proper solutions.
  • Conduct new employee orientation and process new hire paperwork, performing talent acquisition activities as needed.
  • Plan and coordinate employee appreciation events and community service activities, participating in community activities and building relationships with community representatives.
  • Lead or participate in internal and external audits.
  • Create correspondence to employees and managers as needed.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) as well as group facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Change management champion.
  • Solid interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Must be highly organized and with attention to detail.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Solid knowledge of HR principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of HR federal laws and regulations.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Business, or related field.
  • 10+ years of related work experience with proven HR expertise as demonstrated through related certifications.
  • 3-5 years of related experience in the landscaping or manufacturing industry.
  • Human Resources Certification preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and HCM systems.
  • Ability to travel to branch locations in the assigned region.
  • Flexible to work extended hours and modified shifts to support organizational events and activities.
  • Bilingual English-Spanish.
