Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Epidemiologist II to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our Regional Health and Medical Operations team, you will play a critical role in investigating and responding to outbreaks of communicable diseases, including COVID-19.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigate and file communicable disease surveillance reports, and monitor and improve surveillance procedures.
  • Conduct epidemiological studies, perform data analyses, and interpret and disseminate results.
  • Respond to outbreaks of communicable diseases as appropriate, and participate in the development and implementation of Regional Epidemiological plans and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and reports to various community stakeholders and the public about infection control, communicable diseases, disease prevention, and the epidemiology of diseases.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of infectious diseases, biostatistics, and epidemiology.
  • Ability to conduct disease surveillance, devise and develop solutions, and present statistical and technical data clearly and concisely.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with regional and local health department personnel, private physicians, hospital staff, laboratory staff, and the public.
