Position Overview
Our Cali-Baja inspired upscale restaurant is evolving with a contemporary approach to fresh food and beverages. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for crafting and serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Key responsibilities include assisting servers and fellow bartenders, preparing cocktails, taking drink orders, engaging with customers, and ensuring a memorable experience. Bartenders must have a solid understanding of various drink recipes, maintain cleanliness at the bar, restock supplies, and comply with alcohol service regulations. Strong communication skills, mixology expertise, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are essential for this role.
The hourly wage for this position is $16.85.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience in hotels, banquets, or events.
- High School Diploma or equivalent education is required.
- Flexible scheduling based on business needs is required.
- Shifts may include holidays, nights, and weekends depending on hotel events.
- Knowledge of beverages, recipes, and appropriate glassware and garnishes.
- Understanding and compliance with all state liquor regulations.
- Familiarity with the mission, vision, and goals of the hotel.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Detail-oriented with strong multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
- Excellent communication, follow-up, and organizational skills.
- Physical capability to push, pull, bend, squat, and lift regularly.
- Adherence to safety requirements and use of necessary personal protective equipment.
- Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
- Ability to think clearly, remain calm, and resolve issues using sound judgment.
- Ability to follow directions, understand guest service needs, and work collaboratively with team members.
- Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for the bar and restaurant in line with service standards.
- Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, making recommendations based on their preferences.
- Take guests' food and beverage orders using suggestive selling techniques.
- Complete assigned opening duties, including checking the quality and quantity of all bar stock and supplies.
- Requisition necessary supplies and transport them from the storeroom to the bar.
- Set up the bar according to service standards.
- Prepare all garnishes and beverages in accordance with standards.
- Ensure a sufficient supply of flatware, glassware, and chinaware for service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned station and service areas.
- Guide the activities of the bar back to ensure optimal service to guests.
- Remove soiled wares from the bar and clean the area promptly after guests depart.
- Collect and report tips at the end of the shift.
- Complete closing duties and reports as assigned, and report to the supervisor or Manager on Duty before leaving.
- Must be TIPS and Food Safety certified as required.
- Adhere to service standards, operational procedures, and safety protocols.
- Work collaboratively with co-workers and all departments as part of a cohesive team.
- Maintain attendance and reliability standards.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.
