Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled plumber to join our team at Mass General Brigham. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of all plumbing systems across the organization.

The ideal candidate will have experience in routine installations, maintenance, and testing of equipment and systems, calibrations, repairs, and related piping. They will also possess excellent problem-solving skills and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain medical gas systems and complete documentation per department and regulatory guidelines.
  • Install, repair, and maintain piping systems for water, sewage, gas, steam, and air per department standards.
  • Maintain the pool to meet regulatory guidelines.
  • Order replacement parts, materials, and tools to meet the needs of work orders.
  • Prepare stock and material lists to complete work order requests and other routine work.
  • Complete daily rounds to ensure mechanical equipment is functioning and report malfunctions to appropriate parties.
  • Document repairs, replacement parts, and adjustments per department and regulatory guidelines.
  • Establish and maintain a preventative maintenance program per established timeframes.
  • Operate and maintain trucks and other mechanical equipment in safe and serviceable condition.
  • Ensure safety equipment and tools are readily available and in working order.
  • Respond to emergency and routine repairs within department timeframes.
  • Keep work areas clean and equipment, tools, and supplies properly stored before leaving such areas on breaks and end of shifts per safety and regulations.
  • Complete daily work sheets and submit them per department standards.
  • Assist various trades in the installation, maintenance, or basic repair of equipment, piping, electric, HVAC systems, and snow removal per department standards.
  • Support customer service and quality improvement efforts with active participation to meet established goals.
  • Complete additional department, organization, or network activities per established objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to read, write, and perform arithmetic calculations at a level generally acquired through a high school education.
  • Licensure as a plumber in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required.

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. Benefits include health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.
