Surgical Technician

About the Role
As a Surgical Technician at Providence Health & Services, you will play a vital role in the care of patients undergoing surgical procedures. Under the direct supervision of the OR RN Circulator, you will assist the medical and nursing staff in providing high-quality patient care. Your primary function will be to support the surgical team in the operating room, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for patients and staff.
Responsibilities
- Assist the surgical team in preparing patients for surgery, including positioning, draping, and maintaining a sterile environment.
- Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon during procedures, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Monitor and maintain equipment, supplies, and inventory levels in the operating room.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a smooth and efficient surgical process.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families during the surgical experience.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school for medical assistants or equivalent combination of coursework, experience, and training.
- National Provider BLS - American Heart Association certification upon hire.
- 6 months of healthcare experience, with 6 months of medical assistant experience preferred.
