Registered Nurse

As a Registered Nurse in our Med/Surg Float Pool, you will utilize your clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat human responses to actual or potential health problems. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, directing, providing, and evaluating nursing care for patients, while coordinating with other healthcare disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:- Assessment: Perform accurate multi-system assessments, including biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, education needs, and discharge planning needs. Identify deviations from normal on routine lab diagnostic tests and reassess patients throughout hospitalization.
- Planning: Develop an individual nursing plan of care that is sensitive to the developmental needs of the patient. Coordinate patient care activities and discharge planning with other hospital and clinic departments and community agencies. Develop patient teaching plans and document on care plans or teaching plans.
- Implementation: Initiate appropriate measures based on protocol for the management of medical and/or surgical patients. Bases nursing care on protocol in place for management of each patient. Correctly carry out the physician's plan of care, accurately document in the EMR, and utilize a multidisciplinary approach when appropriate.
- Evaluation: Evaluate assessment methods, plan of care, and patient response to treatment. Participate in unit quality assurance activities.
- Minimum 9 months of RN experience
- Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg experience in an acute care setting
- Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care, Intermediate Care, or Step-Down or Telemetry Unit experience
- Previous healthcare experience
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field
- Minimum 3 years recent Med/Surg experience in an acute care setting
- Med/Surg certification
- Progressive Care certification
