Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a full-time Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our energetic team. This role is essential in supporting the Chef Partner with various kitchen operations, including menu development, inventory management, and maintaining high standards of food service. The Assistant Kitchen Manager will play a crucial role in fostering a collaborative environment where staff can thrive and deliver outstanding culinary experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with service standards and assist in guiding kitchen staff to uphold these standards.
  • Support the daily operations of the kitchen, coordinating food production schedules, and ensuring the highest quality in food preparation and presentation.
  • Engage in food preparation, consistently producing high-quality dishes and expediting during busy service periods as necessary.
  • Assist in managing food costs by training kitchen personnel on proper food handling and preparation techniques.
  • Maintain adherence to uniform and grooming standards within the kitchen.
  • Collaborate with the Chef Partner to set kitchen goals, proactively addressing any operational challenges and implementing cost-saving initiatives.
  • Ensure strict compliance with health department regulations and sanitation practices.
  • Work alongside the Chef Partner to guarantee adherence to recipes and product specifications, providing training to kitchen staff on menu items.
  • Facilitate effective communication within the kitchen, addressing staff feedback and resolving issues promptly.
  • Manage ordering of food, supplies, and beverages while adhering to inventory levels.
  • Conduct regular inspections of kitchen and dishwashing areas, addressing any deficiencies immediately.
Qualifications:
  • Availability for flexible shifts without restrictions.
  • Experience in Peruvian cuisine is preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a culinary role is essential.
  • Preferred skills include basic math and excellent verbal communication.
  • A positive attitude and the ability to communicate effectively in English, both spoken and written.
