Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the functionality and availability of enterprise-wide mission-critical University networks
  • Perform network engineering and maintenance tasks under close supervision
  • Assist with network problem identification, analysis, and resolution
  • Provide day-to-day coordination and management of the Athletics network, including wired and wireless infrastructure
  • Install and configure hardware, create and execute maintenance plans, and optimize overall network to ensure speed and resiliency

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree; OR associate's degree and two (2) years of IT experience; OR High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of IT experience
  • Strong knowledge of Aruba CX switching, Aruba wireless, and Palo Alto firewalls
  • Comprehensive knowledge of modern networks, including virtualization, topologies, and models
  • Extensive knowledge of Windows Desktop Operating System Environments, OS X, and other UNIX-based Operating Systems
  • Exceptional knowledge of network protocols and their applications
  • Security-based knowledge of best practices related to general network operations
  • Exhaustive knowledge of hardware components from consumer-grade to enterprise line offerings

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in an applicable area(s) of responsibility
  • Experience with SSL and Certificate Authorities
