Key Responsibilities
  • Imaging and Diagnostic Procedures: Performs routine and special procedure imaging, diagnostic and medical sonograms.
  • Patient Preparation: Prepares patients for procedures, ensuring they are properly positioned and prepared for imaging.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Prepares, operates, and cares for equipment being used, including ultrasound machines and related accessories.
  • Quality Assurance: Develops and processes films when needed, adhering to established radiology standards of care.
  • Continuing Education: Obtains appropriate continuing education to maintain certification and stay up-to-date with the latest imaging technologies and techniques.
  • Customer Service: Adheres to outpatient facility-wide customer service programs, providing excellent patient care and service.
  • Quality Improvement: Assists in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Education: Completion of a certified ultrasound program or Limited Permit/certificate.
  • Certification: ARDMS certification required for ACR accreditation compliance after January 1, 2019, or ARRT (s) or RT (VS) experience preferred.
  • Continuing Education: Must meet continuing education requirements to maintain certification.
  • Certifications: BLS certification through the American Heart Association is required or must be completed within 90 days of hire.
