POSITION OVERVIEW


Our Home is seeking a Manufacturing Operations Supervisor to oversee and manage the activities of a team of up to 50 personnel involved in various aspects of snack food production.

This position is responsible for communicating operational timelines and coordinating manufacturing processes to ensure that safety, production, and quality standards are consistently met.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directs the processing and packaging operations
  • Efficiently schedules staff to fulfill daily production goals
  • Implements production requirements in the most effective manner
  • Guarantees the production of high-quality products by adhering to processing standards
  • Maintains quality assurance by verifying code dates, pricing, weight, seal integrity, and case counts
  • Executes and supervises tasks to ensure data accuracy within the ERP system
  • Utilizes the ERP system to resolve inventory challenges, conduct inventory transactions, and track production progress
  • Keeps abreast of RedZone, 6-S, and Lean Principles
  • Monitors RedZone for machine performance, quality assessments, and downtime
  • Submits maintenance work orders as necessary
  • Adheres to food safety protocols and all relevant SQF System requirements
  • Complies with all Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Ensures the facility is always prepared for audits
  • Identifies quality concerns and segregates products, notifying Quality Assurance and Plant Management
  • Responsible for following safety regulations and addressing unsafe practices and equipment
  • Participates in the hiring, onboarding, training, and evaluation of team members
  • Assesses individual performance and trains staff to meet established standards
  • Completes weekly payroll processing
  • Assists in month-end inventory counts alongside the Plant Project Coordinator and Warehouse Managers
  • Collaborates closely with Plant Project Coordinator, Production, Warehouse, and Plant Managers to ensure effective communication
  • Maintains ongoing communication with the Production Manager
  • Organizes and leads projects as directed by plant leadership
  • Guides team members in completing departmental projects
  • Responsible for sustaining all Continuous Improvement and Safety initiatives
  • Covers other shifts during vacations or as required
  • Performs additional duties as needed

FOOD AND WORKPLACE SAFETY COMMITMENTS

  • Actively manage safety by ensuring compliance with all federal and state regulations as well as internal company policies. Regularly conduct behavior-based safety observations. Ensure unsafe conditions are rectified promptly. All employees are accountable for upholding the principles of SQF certification and must report any food safety, quality, or plant security issues to management immediately.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor's degree with a minimum of three years of experience in a manufacturing leadership role, or five years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Proficient in database software, ADP, Excel, and word processing applications.
  • Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Strong judgment and decision-making abilities
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
  • Familiarity with workplace safety and Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Ability to make informed business decisions
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Capability to analyze problems, allocate resources effectively, and make efficient decisions
  • Proven leadership and management skills to guide employees in effective operations
  • Proficient in conducting root cause analysis

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Manufacturing plant setting
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.

  • Flexibility to work various shifts as needed.
