Key Responsibilities:
- Designs and implements "Plant Your Own" projects, if applicable.
- Applies landscape design principles and effectively utilizes plant materials.
- Safely operates and maintains equipment such as tow motors and loaders.
- Delegates and prioritizes team member tasks, schedules breaks, work hours, and vacations as necessary or in the absence of the Manager.
- Facilitates training sessions for team members.
- Coordinates maintenance, repairs, and training related to all equipment.
- Assists with regular departmental inventory checks.
- Trains team members on store policies, departmental processes, and job responsibilities.
- Collaborates with Buyers on merchandising, new product launches, and pricing strategies, ensuring prompt follow-up on Buyer directives.
- Acts as a hands-on manager, performing all necessary tasks to ensure the efficient operation of the department.
- Maintains knowledge of current inventory and ordering systems to assist with supply and merchandise procurement from approved vendors.
- Ensures the department operates smoothly in the absence of staff or management.
- Communicates performance and training issues to the department manager.
Qualifications:
- Comprehensive knowledge of plant materials and the ability to diagnose plant-related issues.
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.
- Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions is expected while performing job duties.
