Position Title: CLASSROOM INSTRUCTOR

Reports To: Principal

Assistant Principal

Core Responsibilities:
Demonstrates punctuality, dependability, and accountability in all duties.

Key Performance Duties:
1. Prepares comprehensive lesson plans that effectively guide the instructional process.

2. Maintains and cares for educational materials and equipment responsibly.

3. Communicates classroom needs to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.

4. Arrives at work punctually and adheres to scheduled hours.

5. Engages in effective communication with colleagues, parents, students, and administration.

6. Accepts constructive feedback and actively seeks to enhance professional skills.

7. Collaborates and shares resources, ideas, and facilities with peers.

8. Remains aware of the district's and school's objectives and pursues relevant professional development.

9. Maintains confidentiality regarding sensitive information acquired during professional duties, unless disclosure is necessary for professional reasons or mandated by law.

10. Respects the rights and feelings of individuals and communicates directly with those involved in any matters.

11. Adheres to regulations regarding the use of controlled substances, tobacco, alcohol, and appropriate attire while fulfilling responsibilities.

12. Refrains from any form of harassment towards students.

13. Avoids the use of inappropriate language in the presence of students.

14. Ensures no inappropriate interactions occur with students.

Classroom Management Standards:
Employs effective management strategies to create a conducive learning environment.

Instructional Planning:
Plans strategically to establish teaching methods that help students achieve learning objectives.
  • Utilizes a diagnostic approach to assess and enhance student learning.
  • Employs appropriate lesson planning formats as needed.
  • Sets suitable behavioral objectives for students.
Instruction Delivery:
Recognizes and addresses the diverse needs, abilities, and interests of students through tailored instruction.
  • Clearly articulates learning objectives to students.
  • Connects the purpose of learning to students' lives.
  • Links new learning to prior knowledge and facilitates transfer of understanding.
  • Informs students of accountability measures for demonstrating proficiency.
  • Provides relevant information to support student learning.
  • Exhibits thorough knowledge of the subject matter.
  • Regularly checks for student understanding throughout the lesson.
  • Offers varied practice opportunities to ensure mastery of objectives.
  • Monitors guided practice closely to provide immediate feedback.
  • Applies reinforcement techniques effectively during instruction.
  • Creates a supportive classroom atmosphere that fosters learning.
  • Incorporates student interests into lesson activities.
  • Recognizes and praises student efforts appropriately.
  • Ensures all students experience success in their learning endeavors.
  • Schedules practice to enhance retention of knowledge.
  • Encourages students to articulate key learning attributes before concluding the lesson.
  • Collects data to evaluate student performance and inform future lesson planning.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Valid Certification from the State of Kentucky.
Employment Terms:
Salary and work year to be determined by the board of education.

Evaluation Process:
Job performance will be assessed in accordance with board policy for professional personnel.
