Key Responsibilities:
- Examine, process, and compile financial transactions and documentation to ensure completeness and compliance.
- Assess transactions and supporting documents for accuracy and adherence to policies, while monitoring accounting systems for outstanding items.
- Maintain and review financial data and reports for precision, generating standardized financial summaries as needed.
- Address transactional inquiries and escalate broader issues when necessary.
- Respond to financial inquiries from various client groups.
- May oversee procurement card administration, travel card processing, and reimbursements.
- Assist in establishing accounts within financial systems and preparing invoices.
- Engage in new initiatives, including user testing as required.
- Organize and maintain finance-related files and procedures, ensuring compliance with university policies and federal regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Willingness to learn and a solid understanding of financial regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for report generation is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and efficiency.
- A degree in Business or Finance is preferred.
Required Education & Experience:
- A high school diploma or equivalent, along with two years of relevant work experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Familiarity with basic accounting principles.
- Competence in using computerized office applications and accounting software.
- Effective communication skills for conveying information to internal teams and client groups.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly perform desk-based computer tasks.
- Frequently sit, sort, and file paperwork, as well as handle light lifting and manipulation of objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
- Occasionally write by hand, bend, and stoop.
- Rarely stand, walk, or reach above shoulder height.
Working Conditions:
- May require extended hours during peak business periods.
