Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator to join our team at Merola Tile Distributors of America. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Support: Provide expert technical support for our in-house systems, including ERP databases, Microsoft 365 suite, EDI platforms, CCTV system, WMS software, web filter, active directory, printing network, ticketing system, and other critical IT assets.
  • Network Management: Oversee server rack configuration, patch new cables/ports, manage firewall, web filter, create new connections for phone/network, crimp Ethernet cables, monitor network performance, define network policies, and uphold security measures.
  • Project Management: Lead and drive strategic operational projects aimed at enhancing the efficiency and integration of business systems.
  • Escalated Support: Handle escalated and high-level support tickets, providing expert problem-solving skills to resolve complex issues efficiently.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory of hardware, order new hardware or software as needed, keep server room clean, organize server rack cabling, label hardware with host name, and review other department IT-related purchase requests.
  • Warehouse Automation: Spearhead initiatives in warehouse automation, implementing solutions that increase efficiency, accuracy, and throughput in logistics operations.
  • IT SOPs: Create and maintain IT Standard Operating Procedures for common IT tasks, update previous SOPs with leadership guidance.
  • Server Hardware and Applications: Install and integrate new server hardware and applications, push updates to all servers, monitor server performance, and inspect server rack integrity.
  • Training and Development: Assist with training and development of Junior IT Systems Administrators, ensuring they have access to all necessary tools, information, and training to fulfill their role and responsibilities.
Requirements
  • Experience: 2-4 years of experience as a System Administrator.
  • Networking and Cabling: Experience with networking and cabling.
  • Network and Server Rack: Experience with network and server rack management.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree.
  • Preferred Skills: MS SQL Database management experience, ability to stay organized, and work in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Demands

Walk a considerable amount on a daily basis, lift hardware up to 50lbs.
