Position Overview

The Mammography Imaging Specialist plays a crucial role in providing high-quality breast imaging services. This position requires a dedicated professional with a strong background in mammography and a commitment to patient care.

Certification Requirements
  • ARRT Certification: Must possess ARRT and Mammography certification.
  • BLS Certification: Current Basic Life Support certification is required.
Job Responsibilities

As a Mammography Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting diagnostic breast imaging procedures.
  • Ensuring patient comfort and safety during imaging.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation of imaging procedures.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in mammography.
  • Completion of at least 1-2 contracts in a similar role.
Work Schedule

Shifts will vary, including:

  • Screening Shifts: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, and 10-hour shifts from 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM.
  • Diagnostic Shifts: 8-hour shifts with varying start times, including 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM and 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM.

No weekend, holiday, call, or standby requirements are expected.

Unit Specific Information

The department operates with:

  • Screening: One scanner with two technicians in designated locations.
  • Diagnostic: Two machines with staff rotating through them, averaging 14 diagnostic scans per day.
Technology and Equipment

Familiarity with the following systems is essential:

  • EMR: EPIC
  • PACS: Change
  • Department Equipment: Hologic systems for both screening and diagnostic procedures.
Additional Information

Professional attire is required, with any color of scrubs acceptable as long as they are clean and presentable. Expect to complete 2-3 shifts in addition to general orientation.
