Position Overview

The Mammography Imaging Specialist plays a crucial role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services within a healthcare setting. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care and technical expertise in mammography.

Certification Requirements
  • ARRT Certification: Must possess ARRT and Mammography certification.
  • BLS Certification: Current Basic Life Support certification is required.
Job Responsibilities

As a key member of the diagnostic imaging team, the Mammography Imaging Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Conducting diagnostic breast imaging procedures in accordance with established protocols.
  • Ensuring patient comfort and safety during imaging procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation of imaging results.
Experience Requirements
  • A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in mammography is required.
  • Previous completion of at least 1-2 contracts in a similar role.
Work Schedule

The position offers flexible scheduling options:

  • Screening Shifts: 0730-1600, 0800-1630, or 10-hour shifts from 0700-1730.
  • Diagnostic Shifts: 8-hour shifts with varying start times, including 0800-1630 and 0830-1700.
Unit Specific Information

The Mammography Imaging Specialist will work within a collaborative team environment:

  • Screening Locations: Multiple locations with a focus on efficient workflow.
  • Diagnostic Equipment: Utilize advanced imaging machines with a structured schedule for optimal patient throughput.
Department Overview

The Radiology - Mammography department is dedicated to providing comprehensive breast imaging services:

  • Scans are performed every 30 minutes, ensuring timely patient care.
  • Average daily diagnostic procedures range from 14 to 21-25 based on shift length.
Additional Information
  • Professional attire is required; any color of scrubs is acceptable as long as they are clean and presentable.
  • Orientation will include 2-3 shifts in addition to general training.
