Position Overview

The Mammography Imaging Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality breast imaging services. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care and technical proficiency in mammography.

Certification Requirements
  • ARRT Certification in Mammography
  • BLS Certification
Job Responsibilities

As a key member of the Diagnostic Breast Imaging Center, the Mammography Imaging Specialist will:

  • Perform diagnostic breast imaging procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Experience Requirements
  • A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in mammography is required.
  • Completion of at least 1-2 contracts in a similar role.
Work Schedule

The position offers flexible scheduling options:

  • Screening Shifts: 0730-1600, 0800-1630, 10-hour shifts from 0700-1730.
  • Diagnostic Shifts: 8-hour shifts with varying schedules including 0800-1630 and 0830-1700.
Unit Specific Information

The Mammography department consists of:

  • Screening: Multiple locations with shared resources.
  • Diagnostic: Two machines with staff rotating through schedules.
Daily Operations

Typical daily procedures include:

  • Diagnostic Imaging: An average of 14 procedures per day.
  • Screening Imaging: 18-21 procedures in an 8-hour shift or 21-25 in a 10-hour shift.
Technology Utilized

The department employs:

  • EMR: EPIC
  • PACS: Change
  • Equipment: Hologic systems for both screening and diagnostic procedures.
Additional Information

Professional attire is expected, with any color of scrubs permitted as long as they are clean and presentable. New hires will undergo a brief orientation followed by 2-3 shifts of additional training.
