Position Overview

The Mammography Imaging Specialist plays a crucial role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care and technical proficiency in mammography.

Certification Requirements
  • ARRT Certification: Must possess ARRT and Mammography certification.
  • BLS Certification: Current Basic Life Support certification is required.
Job Responsibilities

As a Mammography Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Performing diagnostic breast imaging procedures.
  • Ensuring patient comfort and safety during imaging.
  • Collaborating with radiologists for effective patient care.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in mammography.
  • Completion of at least 1-2 contracts in a similar role.
Work Schedule

The position offers flexible scheduling:

  • Screening Shifts: 0730-1600, 0800-1630, or 10-hour shifts from 0700-1730.
  • Diagnostic Shifts: 8-hour shifts with varying start times, including 0800-1630 and 0830-1700.
Unit Specific Information

In this role, you will work in a collaborative environment:

  • Screening Locations: Multiple locations with shared equipment among technicians.
  • Diagnostic Machines: Utilize two machines with a rotation schedule among staff.
Department Overview

The Mammography department focuses on:

  • Conducting scans every 30 minutes, regardless of the type.
  • Average daily diagnostic scans of 14 and screening scans of 18-25, depending on the shift length.
Technology and Equipment

Familiarity with the following systems is essential:

  • EMR: EPIC
  • PACS: Change
  • Specialized Equipment: Hologic systems for both screening and diagnostic procedures.
Additional Information

Dress code includes:

  • Professional and clean scrubs of any color.
  • 2-3 shifts in addition to a general orientation period.
