Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specimen Processing Group Lead to join our team at Quest Diagnostics Incorporated. As a key member of our Specimen Processing department, you will be responsible for leading a team of Specimen Technicians and ensuring the efficient processing of specimens.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of Specimen Technicians and provide guidance and support to ensure the successful processing of specimens.
  • Assist department supervisors with scheduling coordination and general supervision of Specimen Technicians.
  • Provide input to supervisors for performance review and disciplinary action.
  • Perform audits and ensure compliance with Quest Diagnostics Incorporated policies and procedures.
  • Assist in training and cross-training of Specimen Technicians.
  • Monitor supply inventory and order supplies as needed.
  • Repair and maintain department equipment.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Internal candidates: minimum of one year in SPT III/related role.
  • Preferred work experience: 3 years in a laboratory environment with Specimen Processing experience preferred.
  • Medical background preferred with medical terminology applicable to a clinical laboratory.
Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Performs multiple tasks simultaneously and with interruptions, physical and mental stress.
  • Works in a biohazard environment and practices good safety habits.
  • Able to sit or stand for long periods.
Knowledge and Skills
  • PC skills including the ability to run reports and manage workflow.
  • Maintains confidentiality at all times.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that foster a positive environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to answer questions with both internal and external clients.
  • Adheres to Quest Diagnostics core values, safety, and compliance policies and procedures.
