Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specimen Processing Group Lead to join our team at Quest Diagnostics Incorporated. As a key member of our Specimen Processing department, you will be responsible for leading a team of Specimen Technicians and assisting department supervisors with various activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule coordination and general supervision of Specimen Technicians
  • Providing input to supervisors for performance review and disciplinary action
  • Leading employees, participating in process and compliance audits, and performing duties as assigned
  • Assisting in proper test selection and problem resolution
  • Answering employee questions and providing feedback to supervisors
  • Completing shift paperwork, setting up for production, and ensuring staff has cleaned up at the end of the shift
  • Monitoring supply inventory and ordering supplies as needed
  • Repairing and maintaining department equipment
  • Assisting in training, cross-training, and department auditing functions
Requirements
  • Internal candidates: minimum of one year in SPT III/related role
  • Preferred experience: 3 years in a laboratory environment with Specimen Processing experience
  • Medical background preferred with medical terminology applicable to a clinical laboratory
