Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Musical Theater Director to lead our middle school students in a theatrical performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in musical theater production and be able to conceptualize, audition, rehearse, and produce a high-quality show.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive plan for the musical theater production, including auditions, rehearsals, and performances.
  • Work with students in grades 6-8 to assign and teach music, scenes, and dances as appropriate.
  • Design and delegate technical theater needs, including stage design and lighting/sound requirements.
  • Utilize strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Ensure the production is completed within the designated timeframe and budget.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a cohesive and successful production.
Qualifications
  • Ability to work with students in grades 6-8.
  • Strong background in musical theater production, including directing, choreographing, and teaching music.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Availability during the months of January to May.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Director, Musical Director, Vocal Music Instructor, or Choreographer.
