We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Engineer to join our team at the Department of Defense. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our systems and products.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement safety programs to ensure compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) and Agency level safety guidance.
- Identify and mitigate hazards that may impact the end user, and brief senior leadership on the risks.
- Review and analyze software code generation processes and models for compliance with software safety qualification standards and requirements.
- Lead and organize program level System Safety Working Group (SSWG) meetings to status element software development or testing activities.
- Apply system and software safety engineering skills in support of the development of software requirements, architecture, design, code, and test activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- At least one year of specialized experience in safety engineering and combat/weapon system design.
- Experience with software safety requirements and requirement analysis and flow-down of Safety requirements and attributes.
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with senior leadership.
