Compensation Package

The estimated salary for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.

Job Description

As a Medication Administration Specialist, you will be responsible for administering medications to residents as ordered and under the direction of the attending physician. You will accurately and safely prepare, administer, and document oral and/or topical medications ordered for residents. Your duties will also include completing necessary forms, charts, and reports in a timely manner, ensuring all medications administered are properly labeled, returned, and reordered, and maintaining confidentiality of all resident care information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.

Responsibilities
  • Administer medications to residents as ordered and under the direction of the attending physician.
  • Accurately and safely prepare, administer, and document oral and/or topical medications ordered for residents.
  • Complete necessary forms, charts, and reports in a timely matter.
  • Ensure all medications administered are properly labeled, returned, and reordered.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Licensed Certified Medication Aide in this state.
  • Knowledge of the meaning and usage of common medical abbreviations, symbols, and terms for medication administration.
  • Ability to accurately measure, record, and report vital signs.
