Software Engineer for Space Operations

SalaryThe estimated annual salary for this position is $170,805.00-$239,127.00 in Washington state, with other locations offering varying compensation ranges.
Job DescriptionThis role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a heavy-lift launch vehicle capable of carrying people and payloads to Earth's orbit and beyond.
You will be responsible for designing, building, and improving mission control software that enables efficient and safe rocket launches.
This position directly contributes to the history of space exploration, requiring dedication and attention to detail.
- Develop mission control software for testing and flying launch vehicles and space vehicles
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and operators to develop tools and workflows for advanced spaceflight systems
- Automate and test software, ensuring speed and scalability
- Continuously improve our product, internal tools, and processes
- Integrate commercial, open-source, and custom solutions across our platform
- Innovate on behalf of customers to meet evolving program requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- B.S. degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related field
- 7+ years of software development experience
- Advanced software development skills, particularly in C++ and Python
- Experience with build, test, and deployment automation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team on rapid development programs
- Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or refugee status
