We're pushing the boundaries of space travel at Blue Origin, and we need your expertise to make it happen. As a Software Verification and Test Engineer III on our Lunar Permanence team, you'll be instrumental in developing software that enables unprecedented crew and mass-to-surface capabilities.

About the Role

This position offers an unparalleled opportunity to contribute to the history of space exploration. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams to verify software requirements, architectures, and designs, ensuring the highest level of safety and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Implement Comprehensive Test Plans: Develop rigorous test plans and procedures to verify the overall software verification effort.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work alongside engineers representing various space vehicle systems, mission-control infrastructure, operations fields, and customers to ensure seamless software integration.
  • Drive Innovation through Prototyping: Create rapid prototypes to prove out concepts and quantify technical risks, paving the way for successful software development.
  • Produce High-Quality Documentation: Contribute to documentation for software test architecture, design, verification plans, user manuals, and training materials, showcasing your exceptional communication skills.
  • Foster a Culture of Safety and Reliability: Adhere to software development and test processes that meet Blue Origin and customer-required standards, ensuring the highest level of quality and safety.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Software Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in software development, with a proven track record in Python programming.
  • Familiarity with agile software development processes and full lifecycle software engineering.
  • Confirmed skills in software build automation, continuous integration, configuration management, verification, and deployment.
  • Experience working in a Linux environment and basic Unix system administration activities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a passion for spaceflight and exploration.
