Job Title: Nurse Manager of Labor and Delivery

Location: Plano, TX

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to lead our Labor and Delivery team at Protouch Staffing. As a Nurse Manager, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, managing staff, and ensuring the smooth operation of the department.

Responsibilities:
  • Comply with 5 Standards of Star Service, delivering exceptional service to patients, physicians, guests, coworkers, volunteers, and vendors.
  • Maintain education and development appropriate for position.
  • Perform position in line with Employee Satisfaction, Patient Satisfaction, Physician Satisfaction, Continuous Performance Improvement, and/or Community Involvement.
  • Adhere to established hospital and department guidelines and protocols. Supports hospital mission, vision, and values.
  • Develop and implement a plan for assuring delivery of individual goal-directed nursing care through the use of the nursing process.
  • Provide care in an evidenced-based environment.
  • Practice autonomously, consistent with practice standards and research-based policy/procedures.
  • Exercise independent judgment within the context of interdisciplinary patient care.
  • Provide care/treatment/services within the Synergy Model and Evidenced-Based Practice.
  • Delegate tasks appropriate to meet the needs of the individual patient and to the skills of the employee supervised.
  • Develop and implement a plan for care delivery with patient safety as the primary goal.
  • Demonstrate expertise in selecting and managing unit-based staff.
  • Demonstrate commitment to customer-focused care, star service, and service recovery.
  • Review budget and assume responsibility for maintaining operating expenses at target levels.
  • Incorporate the philosophy of the Department of Nursing and the hospital's mission, vision, and values and Five Indicators of success in the design and implementation of a plan for staff development, care delivery, and unit growth.
  • Participate in and encourage staff participation in performance improvement as an educational experience and a tool for continual improvement of quality of care and nursing-sensitive indicators.
Requirements:
  • 2 years of recent acute care L&D RN leadership experience required. We would like to see candidates with progressive leadership experience.
  • BSN required; MSN or Master's Degree in a related field preferred.
  • Licensure/certification/registration:
    • Texas State RN license or compact license accepted.
    • National Specialty Certification or plan to achieve within 1 year of hire.
    • BLS/ACLS as required.
