Job Description

The Director of Life Enrichment plays a crucial role in the leadership and supervision of our Life Enrichment team. Key responsibilities include:

Key Responsibilities
  1. Work with the Life Enrichment team to plan, develop, and implement engaging activity programs for residents in multiple levels of care.
  2. Update and maintain all five activity calendars for the community, leveraging strong administrative and organizational skills.
  3. Lead a team of activity coordinators, volunteers, and staff, providing training, guidance, and support.
  4. Offer coaching, counseling, and disciplining department staff as needed.
  5. Be creative, flexible, and willing to try new ideas, motivating others to do the same.
  6. Have access to a flexible budget for acquiring new resources, program development, and community connections.
  7. Plan and host resident and community-wide events, involving residents in the process.
  8. Collaborate with the Marketing Department to gain market recognition and awareness.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in Recreation Therapy, Gerontology, Social Work, or a related field is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, creativity, organizational abilities, and knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and assist patients as needed, stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks related to therapy.

  • Be creative, flexible, and able to work independently and collaboratively with internal and external partners.
