Neurology Nurse Practitioner

The Neurology Nurse Practitioner at Bryan Health assists physicians with examinations and procedures to serve the medical needs of patients with various health conditions in a professional, confidential, and caring manner. The nurse practitioner coordinates the flow of patients, phone calls, lab work, and nurse visits to facilitate quality patient care and customer service goals.
The primary responsibilities of this role include:
- Collecting subjective and objective data and contributing to the assessment of the patient; documenting appropriately in the patient chart.
- Making accurate and timely observations and documenting changes in the patient's condition in the patient chart.
- Retrieving messages and responding to calls from patients, pharmacies, hospitals, nursing homes, and other medical offices by use of telephone and computer in a timely manner as delegated by licensed healthcare providers.
- Assisting the physician or provider with all examinations and procedures.
- Keeping the exam rooms clean, disinfected, and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Scheduling outpatient tests and procedures at hospitals by telephone in a timely manner; adhering to the referral process of the practice.
- Explaining tests and preparation as needed for adequate patient education.
- Reading and following policies and procedure manuals for the practice.
- Monitoring inventory of supplies and communicating information to the Office Manager.
- Administering injections, vital signs, vision, and auditory testing as delegated.
- Distributing required vaccination materials and obtaining required authorized signature from patient, parent, or guardian as needed.
- Completing patient charts in a thorough and timely fashion.
- Maintaining flow of patients in accordance with time of appointment to avoid delays for the provider and undue waiting for patients.
- Responsible for compliance with OSHA and safety plans of the practice.
- Maintaining a neat, organized, and safe environment for patients and staff.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited professional nursing program.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Nebraska.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
This is a full-time position with a salary range of $65,000-$85,000 per year, depending on experience.
