Burn Performance Improvement Coordinator Job Summary

The Burn Performance Improvement Coordinator is a registered nurse who functions under the direction of the Burn Program Manager to coordinate clinical, operational, and performance improvement initiatives for the Burn Program at Wellstar Health System, Inc.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Attend burn activations to provide support and enhance burn team performance
  • Collaborate with the burn team to ensure coverage for time-sensitive responsibilities and duties
  • Serve as a resource to patients and families to ensure optimal provision of burn care
  • Attend multidisciplinary rounds with the burn team
  • Facilitate multidisciplinary performance improvement activities related to burn patient care and outcomes
  • Support and assist in the design of burn process improvement and continuous quality enhancement projects
  • Conduct concurrent medical record monitoring and data collection to identify complications and quality metric fallouts
  • Coordinate the burn performance improvement program in conjunction with the burn program manager and medical director
  • Evaluate clinical and burn registry data to inform quality improvement initiatives
  • Work collaboratively with the institutional PI program manager and burn subspecialists
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing required
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience in burn and/or critical care
  • Experience as a burn RN preferred
  • Advanced computer skills and ability to work in a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Quality assurance, LEA, and/or performance improvement background preferred
