Patient Care Coordinator

We're seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to join our team and help us advance health equity. As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will play a critical role in providing patient-oriented service in a clinical or front office setting. This includes greeting and checking in patients, answering phones, collecting patient co-pays and insurance payments, processing paperwork, and performing other front office duties as required. You will also have the opportunity to work with a diverse team and develop your skills in a fast-paced, customer-oriented clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicates directly with patients and families to complete the registration process
- Enters and verifies patient data in real-time using computer systems
- Gathers necessary clinical information and processes referrals, pre-certification, pre-determinations, and pre-authorizations
- Verifies insurance coverage and benefits, and creates price estimates as needed
- Collects patient co-pays and conducts conversations on out-of-pocket financial obligations
- Identifies and collects outstanding balances from previous visits
- Responds to patient inquiries on routine and sensitive topics
- Generates and reviews patient data reports and follows up on issues

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of customer service experience
- Intermediate level of typing proficiency
- Ability to work varying shifts, including holidays
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Microsoft Office products
- Background in healthcare or customer service
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance policies
