Position Summary:

The Senior Scheduler is tasked with the implementation, training, oversight, and execution of Project Controls practices across MasTec Industrial's operational divisions.

Key Responsibilities:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert in Scheduling.
  • Independently manage complex assignments to:
    • Establish the Proposal or Project Baseline Schedule
    • Lead and execute Project Planning and Execution Planning Sessions
    • Facilitate Logic Development, Schedule Updates, and Forecasting
    • Collaborate with teams across Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning to define key milestones and interface dates
    • Resource and Commodity load schedules and provide related graphics
    • Author and update the Scheduling narrative in weekly and monthly reports
    • Ensure compliance and oversight of Project Controls throughout the project lifecycle
    • Support Project Management with reporting requirements
  • Provide coverage for Project Controls Managers during absences.
  • Offer training and mentorship to the Scheduling Team.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support a team within the Cost Controls division, including Cost Controllers I, II, and III.
  • Manage, lead, and mentor direct reports.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in Project Controls Schedule Analysis or a related field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Workface Planning Techniques and Scheduling requirements is advantageous.
  • Professional Level Certification (AACE, PMI, or similar) is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Knowledge of MIC Health and Safety programs and project-specific regulations.
  • Active participation in daily toolbox meetings with crews and subcontractors.
  • Exemplify safe behavior and take personal responsibility for adhering to MasTec Industrial's Zero Injury principles.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Excel, Office 365, InEight, and related Project Controls software.
  • Ability to read and interpret Engineering and Contract documents.
  • Understanding of Critical Path Scheduling Techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Exceptional team-building skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across the organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Capacity to comprehend complex assignments and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain strong relationships with all team members and supervisors.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to work up to a 12-hour shift in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions.
  • Physical strength and stamina to perform tasks, including lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in confined, cluttered, and uneven areas.
  • Compliance with safety and fall-protection requirements when working at heights.

Work Schedule:

This is a Full-Time position, typically requiring 50 hours of work per week, subject to project requirements.

Travel Requirements:

Travel may be required up to 90%, necessitating presence directly on project sites.
