Job Summary

The Senior VDCBIM Project Lead is responsible for supporting multiple large, complex projects. This role ensures the model and information achieve the needs of the shop and field in a timely manner, serving as the primary point of contact for the technical aspect of the BIM process throughout the project life cycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support software implementation on multiple large, complex projects during design, construction, and project close-out.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce BIM standards.
  • Evaluate new BIM-related software and technologies, staying informed on best practices for Revit Architecture and BIM.
  • Interface with IT staff to ensure the BIM Team has the necessary hardware and BIM software properly installed and accessible for project use.
  • Coordinate BIM project workflow and software training for efficient project delivery.
  • Manage design/coordination sequencing and scheduling activities to ensure integration with the BIM modeling effort.
  • Interpret client-proposed BIM requirements for projects, provide feedback, and budgeting to the divisions.
  • Mentor or lead less-experienced team members.
Requirements
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in a related construction, engineering, or technical discipline or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 years' experience, including process management.
  • Experience with HVAC, piping, plumbing, and/or electrical BIM.
  • Intermediate-level knowledge of BIM processes and technologies, especially Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as NBIMS, NCS, AEC.
  • Project experience with Trimble or other Total Station Unit.
  • Working experience with Excel.
  • Sheetmetal, Mechanical Piping, or Plumbing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of LISP, C#, VB.Net, CMD (Batch).
  • Knowledge of Autodesk products (or comparable products) is essential: Revit, AutoCAD, Fabrication (CADmep), Navisworks, AutoDesk Construction Cloud.
  • Some knowledge of additional BIM-related software is a plus: Autodesk 3ds Max Design, MEPCAD AutoSprink.
  • Computer Programming (Revit and AutoCAD API) experience a plus.
  • Problem-solving, troubleshooting, and training capabilities.
