About the Role

Avanath Capital Management is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical individual to join our team as a Treasury Cash Management Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for handling day-to-day treasury functions and transactions, monitoring cash levels at entities, and coordinating cash requirements with entity owners.

The ideal candidate will have experience in residential real estate accounting and a strong understanding of cash management principles. You will be responsible for processing lender reserve draws, reviewing and releasing weekly payments for the portfolio, and other cash and banking functions at the corporate level.

This is a new position that requires a self-starter who is eager to improve accounting processes and provide better property accounting services. If you are a motivated and organized individual with excellent communication skills, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handle all banking transactions, including pending and recurring book transfers and wire transfers
  • Process and deposit physical checks received at the corporate office
  • Create journal entries for banking transactions
  • Monitor daily bank balances
  • Resolve overdrawn or low cash level accounts with the Investments and Fund Accounting departments
  • Plan and forecast cash needs
  • Review and commit payables for payment on a weekly and as needed basis
  • Act as a liaison between Accounts Payable, Property Accounting, and Investments to resolve cash constraints and provide timely payments to vendors
  • Prepare, submit, and record lender reserve draws
  • Fund level intercompany reconciliations (monthly)
  • Assist with development of, documents, and maintains necessary internal controls, policies and procedures regarding property accounting
  • Provides ad hoc analysis, reporting, and special projects, as needed

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred
  • Understanding of and experience in residential real estate accounting concepts and principles preferred
  • Yardi Voyager experience preferred, but not required
  • Cash management or treasury experience would be helpful
  • Excellent people skills, with a service-minded, willing-to-help, and proactive attitude
  • Strong desire to improve processes and provide better property accounting services
  • Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, work in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment, multi-task, and be a team player
