We are in search of a seasoned procurement expert to enhance our Air & Space Defense Systems (ASDS) procurement division. This role focuses on the Engineered Items purchasing sector, where the selected candidate will spearhead procurement initiatives across various programs within the ASDS strategic business unit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct procurement and supplier management tasks to support both U.S. Government and commercial contracts.
- Oversee and manage complex and high-value material and service procurements from domestic and international vendors, including cost-type and letter subcontracts.
- Employ source selection methodologies, gather and evaluate data for price assessments, negotiate terms and conditions, and identify supplier risks.
- Ensure that requirements related to prime contracts, quality, and terms are effectively communicated to suppliers, while managing their performance to meet cost, schedule, and quality standards.
- Collaborate closely with program offices to devise innovative solutions for sourcing challenges.
- Monitor procurement metrics and drive performance to achieve company targets.
- Maintain clear communication and demonstrate proactivity in a dynamic environment, balancing speed and thoroughness while adhering to regulations.
- Support the development of peer procurement professionals as necessary.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field with at least 3 years of experience.
- Experience in placing purchase orders of medium to high complexity and value.
- Eligibility as a U.S. Person or ability to obtain necessary export authorizations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Department of Defense procurement and familiarity with Federal Acquisition regulations.
- Strong negotiation capabilities, including leading formal negotiations and teleconferences.
- Ability to perform and understand price and cost analysis, source selection justification, and supplier quotation analysis.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven track record of effective communication with internal stakeholders and management.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities to influence and interface with suppliers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
- Exceptional time management skills to handle multiple priorities effectively.
- Comprehensive understanding of all phases of sourcing and procurement execution.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
- Knowledge of import/export regulations (ITAR/EAR) and experience in international procurements.
- Experience with Six Sigma and productivity enhancement initiatives.
- Familiarity with Raytheon systems, processes, and procedures.
- Level 4 acquisition certification and SAP experience.
