Senior Network Infrastructure Specialist

The SAIC company is seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Infrastructure Specialist to join their team in Aurora, CO. The ideal candidate will have experience in IT Network Engineering and Project Management, with a strong background in high-speed, high-capacity optical communications systems and equipment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of Commercial Carrier long-haul circuits and will work with a team of Systems Engineers and Technical Advisors to ensure infrastructure design, delivery, enhancement, and recapitalization.

This role requires travel and is based in the Aurora, CO area. An Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance with Poly is required. The targeted compensation range is $125,000-$150,000.

Description of Duties:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of high-speed, high-capacity optical communications systems and equipment
  • Knowledge of high-speed switching layer technologies and architectures
  • Installation and integration of fiber optic telecommunications systems
  • Perform requirements analysis, schedule reviews, and cost estimations
  • Conduct risk assessments and analysis of current and proposed architectures
  • Develop circuit specifications, test methodologies, and exercise testing techniques
  • Provide engineering for optical circuit design, integration, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Technical evaluation of vendor documentation and network designs
  • Review network health and performance reports, and provide technical guidance to resolve issues
  • Independently interact with network and transport services providers to resolve anomalies and performance issues
  • Serve as Transport Services site liaison for various locations
  • Work independently and within team dynamics

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in a STEM field, with nine (9) years of experience; Master's with seven (7) years of experience; or relevant work experience in lieu of a degree
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • 10 years' experience with high-speed Terrestrial Telecommunications systems
  • PMP certification is a plus
  • ITIL certification is a plus

Clearance Requirement:

Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance with Poly

Target salary range:

$120,001 - $160,000

Covid Policy:

SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
