Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Prevention Specialist I to join our team at LifeSkills. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing consultation and technical assistance to substance use prevention coalitions and other organizations in the Barren River Region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide consultation and technical assistance to substance use prevention coalitions and other organizations on evidence-based strategies and the Strategic Prevention Framework.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure alignment of collaboration efforts with needs assessment driven work plan, CMHC work plan, YE deliverables, and Collaboration deliverables.
  • Support the collection of community-level needs assessment data through evaluation activities such as focus groups, interviews, and environmental scans.
  • Make self-initiated contact with multiple stakeholders.
  • Enter all service data in the Prevention Data System.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a human services field (e.g., Addiction, Behavioral Sciences, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Public Health, Sociology, Education).
  • Two years+ of experience working in a human services field.
  • Ability to apply for a Certified Prevention Specialist certification within two years of hire.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and access to reliable means of transportation for job-related use.
  • Regional and statewide travel required.
  • Proven ability to build relationships, trust, and deepen connections with diverse people and groups.
  • Skilled in the areas of organization, verbal/written communication, facilitation, conflict resolution, presentation preparation, and report development.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to follow through on assignments with minimal oversight, and using planning and problem-solving abilities.
